Marvell Technology Inc. (MRVL) stock is trading higher by more than 1% in Tuesday's premarket session after falling 7.32% Monday.
Monday's decline came as leaders at major artificial intelligence companies, including Anthropic and OpenAI, called for a slower pace of advanced AI development over safety concerns. The debate fueled concerns that slower AI development could eventually weigh on chip and data center hardware demand.
However, buyers returned Tuesday as traders moved back into AI and data center semiconductor names. Nasdaq futures are down 0.07%, while S&P 500 futures have slipped 0.04%.
No single company-specific headline appears to be driving Tuesday's rebound. Instead, the move looks like a recovery attempt after Monday's sharp sell-off.
Marvell remains above key longer-term moving averages. Traders are now watching whether the stock can reclaim its 20-day moving average.

However, the stock is about 3% below its 20-day SMA of $227.59. That points to near-term consolidation rather than a clear breakout.
