CoreWeave Inc. (CRWV) had a good day on Tuesday, with shares climbing more than 3%. The move was fueled by a new partnership and a bullish call from Truist Securities.
The broader market was also in a positive mood. The Nasdaq gained 0.42%, the S&P 500 rose 0.14%, and technology led all sectors with a 0.7% advance.
Rescale Taps CoreWeave for AI and Engineering Workloads
CoreWeave announced Tuesday that Rescale will expand its cloud ecosystem to the CoreWeave platform. The partnership is designed to support AI and simulation workloads used in product development, serving customers in aerospace, automotive, energy, life sciences, and manufacturing.
Rescale's platform combines computing infrastructure, simulation software, and AI tools. By integrating with CoreWeave, Rescale's customers will gain access to CoreWeave's cloud services for generative AI and high-performance computing. Rescale will use the CoreWeave Kubernetes Service, which helps engineering teams run distributed simulations and AI models without having to manage the underlying infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Truist Securities analyst Arvind Ramnani maintained a Buy rating on CoreWeave on Monday and raised his price forecast from $155 to $165.
Broader market conditions also helped. The Russell 2000 rose 0.32%, while the Dow gained 0.10%. However, the advance-decline ratio remained near 0.8, signaling selective strength.
Technical Analysis
CoreWeave remains in a longer-term recovery phase. The stock trades 11.3% below its 100-day simple moving average and 3.9% below its 200-day SMA. However, the 20-day SMA has moved above the 50-day SMA, a bullish crossover that suggests the recent decline has stabilized.
The relative strength index stands at 48.54, signaling neutral momentum. Still, a July death cross remains a concern. That pattern formed when the 50-day SMA fell below the 200-day SMA. CoreWeave shares have declined 4.78% over the past 12 months.
Key resistance sits near $94.50, with support around $87.
Analyst Outlook
CoreWeave carries a Buy consensus rating and an average price forecast of $144.11. Truist Securities maintained its Buy rating and raised its forecast to $165 on Aug. 24. Goldman Sachs maintained a Neutral rating and lifted its forecast to $139 on Aug. 21. Citigroup maintained a Buy rating and increased its forecast to $159 on Aug. 14.
Market Data and ETF Exposure
CoreWeave has a weak Momentum score of 12.96 on the MarketDash scorecard, reflecting the stock's position below key longer-term moving averages. A move above $94.50 could strengthen the recovery, but a break below $87 could weaken Tuesday's bullish setup.
CoreWeave has a 7.22% weighting in the Renaissance IPO ETF (IPO), a 4.05% weighting in the iShares Future AI & Tech ETF (ARTY), and a 0.23% weighting in the Goldman Sachs Equal Weight U.S. Large Cap Equity ETF (GSEW). Fund inflows or outflows can therefore create additional buying or selling pressure.
Price Action
CoreWeave shares rose 3.26% to $89.06 at the time of publication Tuesday, according to market data.
