Exor Can Raise Philips Stake To 22%
Under the updated agreement, Exor can increase its stake in Philips to as much as 22% of issued ordinary share capital and voting rights, up from the previous 20% cap. If Exor wants to go even higher, it would need approval from the Philips Supervisory Board. Governance arrangements remain unchanged, including Exor's right to nominate one member of the Supervisory Board.
The move signals continued confidence from Exor, which has been a stabilizing force for Philips. S&P 500 futures were up 0.1% in early trading, while investors focused on Exor's backing and management's 2026–2028 plan.

Feike Sijbesma, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal Philips, said: "Exor's long-term commitment underlines its confidence in Philips and its strategy. The Supervisory Board values Exor's constructive engagement, and I appreciate Benoît Ribadeau-Dumas' continued contribution as we oversee Philips' strategic direction."
Philips CEO Roy Jakobs added: "The updated agreement reflects Exor's support for Philips and its Board of Management as we execute our 2026–2028 plan. It underscores the value creation potential of the plan and our focus on delivering profitable growth."

At $27.11, the stock is above its 20-day, 50-day and 100-day SMAs and sits just above the 200-day SMA at $27.10, making that level a key long-term pivot. Holding above it could support further upside, while a break below may keep the stock range-bound.
