Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is back on the warpath, and this time she's armed with a poll. On Thursday, she reiterated that President Donald Trump is cashing in on his time in office, pointing to a survey that shows voters aren't thrilled about his crypto windfall.

Strong Disapproval by 44% of Respondents
Warren cited a survey by Echelon Insights showing that 55% of voters disapproved of Trump's $1.4 billion in earnings from cryptocurrency ventures. That's a solid majority, and it gets worse for the president when you break it down: roughly 44% of those surveyed "strongly" disapproved, while another 11% "somewhat" disapproved.
Warren didn't mince words. She said that while many Americans are struggling to "afford the basics," Trump is "using the presidency" to boost his family's cryptocurrency business. It's a classic political jab, but the poll numbers give it some teeth.
Echelon explained its methodology, noting that "the sample was weighted to reflect modeled turnout and demographic characteristics of the population of voters in the 2026 likely electorate." So this isn't a random internet poll; it's designed to reflect who's actually likely to vote.
The White House didn't immediately return a request for comment.
Trump's Crypto Earnings in the Spotlight
This all stems from Trump's financial disclosures, which revealed he earned roughly $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency ventures last year. That includes World Liberty Financial and the Official Trump (CRYPTO: TRUMP) memecoin. Yes, a memecoin named after the president himself.
A White House spokesperson previously said all actions by the Trump administration are taken in the "best interest of the American people," while rejecting any suggestions of "conflict of interest." Standard stuff, but the sheer scale of the earnings has prompted calls for tighter guardrails on Trump's cryptocurrency profiteering.
Enter the Clarity Act, also known as the cryptocurrency market structure bill. New ethics provisions in the bill prohibit the president, vice president, and other covered officials, along with their spouses, from "issuing or sponsoring" digital assets for profit while in office. Sounds good on paper, right?
Not so fast, says Warren. She argues the new draft "does nothing" to prevent Trump from making his next billion-dollar fortune from cryptocurrency ventures, and she's demanding the bill be dead on arrival. In other words, she thinks it's a toothless tiger dressed up as reform.
So there you have it: a president making serious bank from crypto, a senator crying foul, and a poll that suggests voters are on her side. Whether this moves the needle in Washington remains to be seen, but it's a story that's not going away anytime soon.
