The trading activity of members of Congress continues to be closely monitored by retail investors, especially when it comes to selling some of the top traded market names.
Rep. Sam Liccardo (D-Calif.) recently disclosed his first stock transaction since taking office in January 2025, as tracked by the MarketDash Government Trades page.
Liccardo sold 100 shares of Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) on July 21.
Liccardo previously disclosed owning Nvidia stock valued between $15,000 and $50,000 in an IRA, according to data from Quiver Quantitative.
Nvidia stock traded between $204.01 and $208.65 on July 21, a higher price point than the current price of $190.01 and the starting year price of $186.27.
Based on the filing stating the sale was for 100 shares, Liccardo's sale was valued at between $20,401 and $20,865.
This means that Liccardo's sale was up $1,774 to $2,238 from the starting price at the beginning of 2026. It is unknown when exactly Liccardo acquired the shares.
With Nvidia shares barely up in 2026, the sale may end up being greatly timed by the congressman.
Nvidia is one of the most popular stocks and one of the most valuable companies in the world.
