Consolidated net revenue was down 1% year-over-year, but global comparable store sales climbed 7.9%. That growth came from a 4.2% increase in transactions and a 3.5% increase in average ticket. In North America, comparable sales rose 8.1%, while internationally they increased 5.7%.
“Our Back to Starbucks plan was built on the belief that an extraordinary cup of coffee, human connection and customer experience win the day, every day. Our third quarter results are proof they do,” said Brian Niccol, chairman and CEO of Starbucks. “We have more work to do, but we’re relentlessly focused on reclaiming the third place and becoming the world’s greatest customer service company.”
The company opened 175 net new stores during the quarter, ending with 41,304 locations worldwide. It also reported $3.45 billion in cash and cash equivalents.
