Amkor Technology Inc. (Amkor (AMKR)) just wrapped up a quarter that would make most semiconductor companies jealous. After Monday's closing bell, the chip packaging specialist posted second-quarter results that blew past Wall Street's expectations on both the top and bottom lines.
The numbers are hard to ignore. Amkor reported earnings of 70 cents per share, crushing the consensus estimate of 45 cents by a whopping 55.56%. Revenue came in at $1.9 billion, beating the $1.81 billion analysts were looking for and marking a solid jump from the $1.51 billion the company brought in during the same period last year.
“Amkor delivered record second quarter revenue and strong profitability, with record revenue in our Computing and Automotive & Industrial end markets,” said CEO Kevin Engel. He added that during the first half of 2026, the company “expanded strategic partnerships across the semiconductor ecosystem, advanced key customer programs in AI and HPC, and continued the expansion of our Advanced packaging and test capacity.”
Looking ahead, Amkor expects third-quarter GAAP earnings of 72 to 82 cents per share, well above the 64-cent analyst estimate. Revenue is projected to land between $1.95 billion and $2.05 billion, though that range falls slightly short of the $2.09 billion consensus.
Investors seemed cautiously optimistic. Amkor stock edged up 0.66% to $61.11 in Monday's extended trading session, recovering a bit of ground after a 6.54% slide during regular trading.
