Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) shares surged more than 11% on Monday after the company disclosed its massive crypto and cash holdings, a hefty share buyback program, and details on its Ethereum staking operations. The broader market was mixed, with the Nasdaq down 0.11% and the S&P 500 up 0.24%.
Here's the headline number: Bitmine said it holds $11.8 billion in total assets across crypto, cash, marketable securities, and strategic equity positions. That includes a staggering 5,787,414 Ethereum tokens — about 4.8% of all ETH in existence — valued at $1,948 per token. On top of that, the company holds 208 Bitcoin, $268 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, and a $61 million stake in Eightco Holdings (ORBS).
But the real story might be the buyback. Bitmine said it repurchased 6.1 million shares of common stock in the past week under its previously authorized $4 billion repurchase program. That brings total buybacks to 11.6 million shares since July 1. Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine, called it "the largest ever common stock buyback for any ETH or Bitcoin Digital Asset Treasury."
Then there's the staking business. Bitmine disclosed that it has 4,917,189 staked ETH, worth $9.6 billion, running through its Made in America Validator Network (MAVAN) platform. That's 85% of its total ETH holdings. "Annualized staking revenues are now projected at $254 million," Lee said. "Bitmine's own staking operations generated a 7-day yield of 2.65% (annualized)."
Bitmine remains the world's largest Ethereum treasury and ranks second among all corporate treasuries, behind only Strategy Inc. (MSTR). According to Fundstrat data, the stock had a five-day average daily dollar volume of $597 million as of Friday.
