AI infrastructure stocks are getting a boost in after-hours trading Wednesday following Alphabet Inc.'s Alphabet (GOOGL) quarterly earnings call. Here's what you need to know.

On the conference call after Alphabet's second-quarter earnings, the Google parent company revised its full-year 2026 capital expenditures forecast from a range of $180 billion to $190 billion to a new range of $195 billion to $205 billion, primarily due to the acceleration of delivering capacity to meet growing demand. The company also said it expects 2027 capital expenditures to "increase significantly."

Alphabet CFO Anat Ashkenazi said on the call that the company also plans to increase its use of third-party providers. "We plan to expand the use of third-party capacity in Q3 as a bridging strategy while we build up more internal capacity," the Alphabet CFO said. "While we have increased our capacity quite significantly over the past three years, the demand still outpaces that investment."

Google Cloud revenues were up 82% year-over-year in the second quarter, driven by demand for AI infrastructure and AI solutions. The company said its AI investments are redefining what's possible across every part of its business.
