The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly struck vessels in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, casting fresh doubts on President Donald Trump's peace deal with Iran and the safety of ships passing through the critical waterway.

IRGC Struck Vessels

U.S. officials cited by Axios said the IRGC fired at least two missiles at ships traveling through the Strait, causing substantial damage to both vessels. However, no casualties were reported. The Wall Street Journal also confirmed the attacks, citing a senior U.S. official.

UKMTO Updates

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) reported that a vessel was struck by an "unknown projectile" about 10 miles east of Limah, Oman. The agency confirmed no casualties or environmental damage.

OPEC+ Oil Surge, Iran War

OPEC+ announced an agreement to increase oil supply by over 188,000 barrels per day, approved by Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, and others during virtual talks on Sunday. Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official warned that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Tehran's command, after Iran had cautioned ships to stay on designated routes or risk being struck.

Another challenge to peace is Israeli strikes on Lebanon. The Memorandum of Understanding between Washington and Tehran requires an end to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, but Israel has vowed an indefinite presence there.
