Over the weekend, America's 250th birthday drew patriotic tributes from some of the biggest names in technology and business, while President Donald Trump used the landmark celebration to deliver a sharply political speech warning that the nation faces a "communist menace."

Communities across all 50 states celebrated the nation's 250th anniversary on Saturday with parades, concerts, historical reenactments and fireworks.

In Washington, D.C., organizers staged a 40-minute fireworks display in an attempt to set a world record. At the same time, New York City marked the occasion with Navy flyovers, tall ships in the harbor and the Empire State Building illuminated in celebration.

Several prominent business leaders also took to X to commemorate the milestone.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook called the U.S. a "remarkable country" built on the idea that "anyone can change the world."

He said, "For 250 years, our country has been a testament to the power of possibility. Let's keep building extraordinary things together."

Alphabet Inc. (GOOG) and Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the country's legacy of "innovation, ingenuity & curiosity," wishing Americans a "happy & safe" Independence Day.

Tesla Inc. (TSLA) and Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SPCX) CEO Elon Musk shared that he had read the Declaration of Independence aloud "with heartfelt conviction," calling it "a work not just of genius, but also of a purity of soul."

Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio reflected on America's extraordinary rise, writing that the nation's success over the past 250 years would have once seemed "virtually impossible." He also cautioned that the country must not lose sight of the principles that made it successful.

Dell Technologies (DELL) CEO Michael Dell took to X and said, "Grateful for every founder, veteran, and hero who made it possible. Land of the free. Home of the brave. Forever."

YouTube creator MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, credited the U.S. for giving him the opportunity to pursue his ambitions, saying, "I wasn't born into wealth... This country gave me the freedom to chase my dreams."

Trump's Mount Rushmore Speech Takes Political Turn

Speaking at Mount Rushmore in Keystone, South Dakota, Trump framed the anniversary as a pivotal moment for the country's future.

"There is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land," Trump said, adding that "Communism is the enemy of free people everywhere" and "the enemy of the Constitution."

The president also renewed calls to eliminate the Senate filibuster and urged passage of a "SAVE America Act," arguing the changes would reshape future elections while accusing his political opponents of undermining core American values.
