In his post, Pritzker wrote, "While Trump drives up gas prices, Illinois is pausing our motor fuel tax."
He added, "Trump cuts SNAP, Illinois is addressing food deserts and funding school lunches."
Pritzker also said, "While Trump is building an UFC arena, Illinois is building out our infrastructure and housing."
Lawmakers Criticize Trump's Spending And Deficit Plans
Earlier, Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) said Trump's proposed funding for a White House ballroom and a "weaponization fund" could have been directed toward public services such as dam repairs, lead pipe replacement and school meals.
She also questioned the purpose of the compensation fund, suggesting it could benefit individuals tied to the January 6 Capitol attack.
Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) accused Trump of favoring allies through a proposed $1.8 billion fund, while linking rising gas prices to healthcare cuts and tax breaks for wealthy Americans.
He said Americans were facing higher fuel costs while questioning government priorities.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) also warned that Trump's policies and spending bills would significantly widen the federal deficit, projecting a $2 trillion gap in 2026.
He cited official estimates showing deficits ranging from $1.853 trillion to $2.065 trillion, and said long-term debt impacts could grow substantially under recent legislation.
