High-Tech Hardware Meets Real-World Border Challenges
The two-day summit pulled together an impressive mix of federal, state, local, and military stakeholders focused on border security, public safety, and advanced unmanned aerial systems operations. Think of it as a showcase where the people who actually deal with border security challenges get to see what modern drone technology can really do.
Draganfly's systems executed long-endurance flight missions across the challenging terrain along the U.S.-Mexico border, demonstrating real-world capabilities in surveillance, emergency response, apprehension support, and secure communications. These weren't just theoretical demonstrations—the drones were performing actual border-security tasks in the kind of rugged conditions they'd face in daily operations.
The Outrider Border Drone is a North American-built, NDAA-compliant platform specifically engineered for tough, mission-critical border environments. Core specifications include up to 100 pound payload capacity and up to 7 hours of continuous flight time—that's nearly a full work shift without needing to land and recharge. The platform also features advanced imaging, AI-enabled sensing, secure real-time communications, and seamless integration with Draganfly's portfolio of NDAA-compliant systems, including the Flex FPV, Apex, Commander III, and Heavy Lift platforms.
Strong Agency Interest and Procurement Talks
The live operations generated significant interest from federal and state agencies, county and municipal law enforcement departments, and U.S. military observers. It's one thing to see specs on paper, but watching these systems operate in actual border terrain apparently made an impression.
The company said several agencies are now engaged in ongoing discussions around procurement pathways, deployment models, and distribution partnerships utilizing existing grant allocations and public-safety budgets. Translation: there's already money set aside for this kind of technology, and agencies are figuring out how to acquire these systems.
Building Momentum with Recent Wins
Last week, Draganfly received a second purchase order from a Fortune 50 telecommunications company, expanding its NDAA-compliant drone fleet for emergency and post-disaster telecom support. Under that deal, Draganfly will deliver multiple Commander 3XL drones equipped with USaS's LEAP tether system, which enables continuous power, high-bandwidth connectivity, and longer mission endurance.
DPRO Price Action: Draganfly shares were down 6.22% at $6.03 during premarket trading on Monday, according to market data.
